Sterling Partners’ Education Opportunity Fund and USA Funds have announced a strategic partnership with the National Research Center for College & University Admissions (NRCCUA). The partnership will allow NRCCUA, which was founded in 1972, to accelerate its development of innovative solutions that are aimed at improving college-bound student recruitment and retention as well as assisting students and their families when making educational, occupational, and financial aid decisions.
This is the first investment made out of the Education Opportunity Fund, Sterling’s first-ever sector-focused fund. In April 2015, Sterling partnered with USA Funds, a mission-driven, nonprofit organization with a focus on “Completion With a Purpose,” to launch this $200 million fund.
“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with NRCCUA,” said Sterling Partners Managing Director Shoshana Vernick. “As the challenges faced by enrollment professionals continue to grow, and the cost of college continues to rise, student recruitment and admissions departments are increasingly dependent on technology solutions and analytics to find efficiencies in their processes. At the same time, students and their families are demanding transparency when making this important decision.”
USA Funds’ and Sterling’s successful and long-standing commitment to partnering with purpose-driven companies and leaders who foster innovation within the education sector closely aligns with NRCCUA’s mission to connect college-bound students and their families with their best-fit college or university to achieve future success.
Businesses within Sterling’s Education Opportunity Fund portfolio have access to benefits much deeper than just capital and can take advantage of the fund’s invaluable strategic and operational understanding of the education market. Additionally, portfolio companies can leverage USA Funds’ extensive experience and relationships within the higher-education sector.
